Biography

Juan Lua serves as the Director of Project Development at Vanmar Builders, overseeing project management, strategic planning, and business operations across residential and commercial projects. A native of the Coachella Valley, Juan brings a strong background in leadership, analytics, and construction management, ensuring each project is executed with precision, clear communication, and professionalism.

Before joining Vanmar Builders, Juan competed in Division I football at the University of Massachusetts Amherst before advancing to the professional level with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He later successfully operated a startup painting company in Amherst, where he developed hands-on experience in business management, client relations, and construction operations.

Juan went on to serve as Project Manager for Desert Elite Electric & Construction, leading projects such as the Westin Marriott Marketplace conversion and multiple major facility improvements throughout the region.

In his role at Vanmar Builders, Juan plays a key part in advancing the company’s mission of integrity, craftsmanship, and strategic growth, while helping guide its future in real estate development, project execution, and construction innovation.

Education

Juan earned his Master of Science in Business Analytics with Honors and Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the Isenberg School of Management. He also holds an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Saddleback College, where he graduated on the Dean’s List.
